Trends in Bridal Bouquets

Today, one of the newest looks in bridal bouquets is a return to an old look: the vintage style of the traditional nosegay. With the right flowers, a small, compact bouquet can make a huge statement. We’ve started seeing the addition of a jeweled broach or buckle fastened at the handle of the bouquet, adding a touch of sparkle.

There is also a strong trend toward simplicity. Whether opting for all-roses, all-calla lilies, all-tulips, or all-daffodils, brides are frequently choosing a single type of flower for their bouquets. To be trendy is to be simple and elegant rather than lush or over the top.

Simplicity is revealed in the use of color, as well, with the choice of a monochromatic design, sometimes in various shades of the same color family, for the bouquet. All-yellow, all-lavender, all-red — what an impact that one burst of color can make! Although white has been the first choice for bridal bouquets for years and is still very beautiful, color stands out against the paleness of the wedding gown and can reveal a little more of the bride’s personality. Not to mention how it pops in photographs. Striking! ~JSC
